It's a wonderful feeling!

I'm a people-pleaser. Guilty. And today I thought about how I help others-mostly in my business, designing homes/businesses. I know I'm going to sound selfish to say this, but I truly love helping others accomplish their dreams because I get such a feeling of satisfaction seeing my client's faces light up and say "ooo" and "ahhh" at the whole outcome. And it's a wonderful feeling! And I'm so lucky to have client's who feel so comfortable with me that they put their trust in my abilities as their designer to create their space for them. What else can I ask for?

Today is my Mom's birthday...

So, to honor my Mom on her very special day I thought I'd share a poem with you. She's 78 today and is going strong! We're taking her out for a birthday lunch at her favorite restaurant....Happy birthday Mom!

A Mother's Love

A Mother's love is something
that no on can explain,
It is made of deep devotion
and of sacrifice and pain,
It is endless and unselfish
and enduring come what may
For nothing can destroy it
or take that love away . . .
It is patient and forgiving
when all others are forsaking,
And it never fails or falters
even though the heart is breaking . . .
It believes beyond believing
when the world around condemns,
And it glows with all the beauty
of the rarest, brightest gems . . .
It is far beyond defining,
it defies all explanation,
And it still remains a secret
like the mysteries of creation . . .
A many splendid miracle
man cannot understand
And another wondrous evidence
of God's tender guiding hand.

Attitude

A t t i t u d e

There once was a woman who woke up one morning,
looked in the mirror, and noticed she had only three hairs on her head.
'Well,' she said, 'I think I'll braid my hair today.'

So she did and she had a wonderful day.

The next day she woke up,
looked in the mirror and saw that she had only two hairs on her head.

'H-M-M,' she said,

'I think I'll part my hair down the middle tod ay.'

So she did and she had a grand day.

The next day she woke up,
looked in the mirror and noticed that she had only one hair on her head.
'Well,' she said, 'today I'm going
to wear my hair in a pony tail.'
So she did, and she had a fun, fun day.

The next day she woke up,
looked in the mirror and noticed
that there wasn't a single hair on her head.
'YAY!' she exclaimed.

'I don't have to fix my hair today!'

Attitude is everything.

tromp l'oeil

In the city of Portland, Oregon, I saw this beautiful display of art made to 'fool your eye' into thinking the statues, the curved brick walls, the window arches are really 3-D. Amazing talent...all painted on a plain, flat building side.

simplicity....

Nature's Beauty

from my trip to Hawaii-
A gorgeous example of nature's beauty-just look at the details in that flower and those colors!
The twisting roots on this Umbrella Tree just caught my eye....

First Posting!

On this very rainy day today, I find myself sitting at my computer creating a new blog and attempting to get it right! I hope what inspires me may also inspire you! Enjoy!
